I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
