Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
